So, I’ll be providing details regarding recruitment drive held by Gujarat Police Department only. Posts in Gujarat Police Department that B. Com. graduates are eligible to apply for
- PSI (Sub Inspector, male and female)
- Constable (male and female)
Now, let us check out the age limit criteria that candidates must satisfy, in order to be considered eligible to apply for the above mentioned posts in the Gujarat Police Department.
In case of the post of PSI, the age limit set is- between 21 to 28 years.
Educational qualifications required
For the post of PSI, candidate should have B. Com. Degree from a Recognized Institute/University. In case of Constable’s post, being 12th standard pass-out is the eligibility criteria. Still, B. Com. graduates may apply for that post also since they satisfy the 12th schooling criteria.
Selection process and stages involved in it
First of all, aspirants have to watch out for recruitment advertisements that the authorities put out. You see, there isn’t a fixed time when such Police recruitment notices and advertisements are circulated by the authorities. So, I can’t pin point a date here!
Once the advertisement/notice has been put up, aspirants may apply for the post that they prefer. Once their application is selected, they are called to appear for the selection process.
First of all, let us check out the selection process conducted for the post of PSI-
1 Selection process for PSI’s post-
First of all, in case of all candidates, a physical qualification test is held. Both male and female candidates have to go through this qualification round. Actually, in this round, no marks are awarded to the candidate for their performance! They are just required to qualify this round so that they may proceed to the next round.
In case of male candidates, the physical test consists of the following two rounds-
- Running 800 m within 3 minutes and 10 seconds.
- Running 5 km within 25 minutes.
In case of female candidates, the event is slightly different than above. Actually there is just one set of activity that they need to perform. That is-
- Running 1600 m within 9 minutes.
Candidates have to cover the specified distance within the time allotted. On doing so, they will be considered having qualified to appear for the next round, which is- written examination.
Candidates who have cleared the qualification round are then supposed to appear for the written test part. The written test comprises of 4 papers that are of the objective type form.
The papers are-
- Gujarati Language- 75 marks- 2 hours
- English Language- 75 marks- 2 hours
- General Knowledge (Current Affairs and Criminal Procedure related)- 100 marks- 2 hours
- Law and Order topics- 100 marks- 2 hours
Candidates who manage to clear the written examination part are then called to appear for the Interview test that carries 50 marks.
